Diagnostic
Diagnostic or conventional X-rays are the most common type of imaging procedures performed. X-rays are an easy and efficient way for doctors to look at the body's internal structures.
The pictures reveal different parts of the body in shades of gray based on the ability of the x-ray to penetrate different structures. Contrast agents may be administered to help enhance structures such as the kidneys and gastro intestinal tract.
X-rays can be used for a wide range of applications including imaging of the bones, lungs, heart and abdominal organs.
