Michael Brant-Zawadzki, M.D., F.A.C.R.
Dr. Michael Brant-Zawadzki joined NHRA in 1986. After his training in Radiology and Neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center, Dr. Brant-Zawadzki spent six years on the Neuroradiology faculty at the University of California, San Francisco, in the Neuroradiology Section. He has authored and co-authored more than 180 papers in professional journals, 17 textbooks and has a large number of book chapters to his credits.
Dr. Brant-Zawadzki lectures nationally and internationally. He is a consultant to industry in the Imaging, Pharmaceutical, and Informatic fields. He is a member of multiple professional societies and sat on the Executive Committee of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance Medicine, as well as on the Task Force on Clinical Guidelines for the North American Spine Society. He serves on the editorial board of numerous professional publications including JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) and the American Journal of Neuroradiology. In 1989, he was elected to the Fellowship of the American College of Radiology and in 1993 he received the special Gold Medal from the Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine for Outstanding Pioneering Achievements in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Dr. Brant-Zawadzki was the Medical Director in the Radiology Department at Hoag Hospital from 2000-2007 as well as the Chairman/Vice Chairman of the Radiology Department and Director of MRI from 1986-2007. He currently serves as the Executive Medical Director of Neurosciences at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, California, and also holds an Adjunct Clinical Professorship in Neuroradiology at Stanford University.
