Taketa joined Newport Radiology in 1981. He received his medical degree from the
University of California, Irvine and completed his residency at the University
of California, San Diego Medical Center and Affiliated Hospital in 1974. He also
completed fellowships in Nuclear Medicine and Cardiac radiology at UC San Diego.
